Be Used to Exercise
Practice using 'be used to + verb-ing' and 'be used to + noun/pronoun' in different tenses.
Structure: Be used to + noun/pronoun/gerund
Meaning: To be familiar with or accustomed to something (not the same as 'used to + infinitive' for past habits!)
Present:
I am used to waking up early.
She is used to the cold weather.

Key Rules: Be Used To + Verb-ing / Noun
Structure: Subject + be (am/is/are/was/were/will be) + used to + noun/pronoun/gerund (verb-ing)
Meaning: To be familiar with or accustomed to something (it's not new or strange anymore)
Different from 'used to + infinitive': 'Be used to' = accustomed to (present), 'Used to' = past habits (no longer true)
Always use verb-ing after 'be used to': I am used to working (NOT 'to work')
Can use with nouns: She is used to the noise. They are used to cold weather.
Related form: 'Get used to' = become accustomed to (process of adaptation)
